What You Can Expect as a GamLEARN Member
1
Access to External Events and Conferences
Attend local and national events throughout the year as a guest or speaker. We want to make sure these opportunities are accessible to everyone, so we offer financial support for travel where possible.
2
Monthly Newsletter
Stay informed with our monthly newsletter, featuring updates on upcoming events, member opportunities, stories from across the network, and resources to support your journey.
3
Advisory Panels and Roundtable Discussions
Take part in open and honest conversations about both what is happening within GamLEARN and in the wider sector. These sessions give members a space to discuss current research, regulation, and developments around gambling-related harm, as well as to share feedback and ideas that help shape our own work. Your voice matters in shaping the direction of our community and contributing to collective learning.
4
Platform to Share and Connect
GamLEARN provides a safe and inclusive space to share your experiences and connect with others who have been on similar journeys. We believe in the power of community and peer learning.
5
Annual Events and Workshops
Take part in our key events and skills-based workshops. These are opportunities to learn, build confidence and share your voice, whether as a participant or a speaker.
6
Criminal Justice Support
If you are currently navigating the criminal justice system, we offer tailored support to help you through it. This includes weekly online sessions specifically for members who are involved with the criminal justice system, providing a safe space to connect, share, and access guidance.
We also run a separate session every 3 weeks for impacted others — family members, partners, or anyone else impacted by somebody else’s gambling. These sessions are designed to offer understanding, peer support, and practical advice.
Check In
At our weekly CJS meetings, as well as our Impacted Others meetings held every three weeks, we begin with a simple check-in: each person shares one word to describe how they’re feeling in that moment. At the close of the session, we do the same check-out, asking everyone to choose a word that reflects how they feel after the meeting.
Check Out
This practice gives us a safe and supportive way to express our emotions, notice how they may shift during our time together, and be reminded that we’re not alone and that we’re surrounded by others who understand and share similar experiences.
